WBC Wins National Honors
Williams Baptist College business students have returned from California with four national awards.
They competed at the national convention of Phi Beta Lambda college business society in Anaheim, California, June 20-23, which had a record attendance of 1,776 participants from around the country.
Ty Jones of Kennett, Missouri., took fourth place in the Sales Presentation category. Jones will be a senior at WBC this fall.
Fifth place in Business Ethics was awarded to the team of Jessica Sheffield of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Tiffany Pickett of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas. Sheffield graduated from WBC in May and Pickett will be a junior this fall.
Shane Stolz of Harrison, Arkansas and Rachel Burchfield of Paragould, Arkansas teamed up for a seventh place finish in Small Business Plan. Both graduated this year.
And Kendra Partee of Salesville, Arkansas took tenth place in Business Communication. She also graduated in May.
A total of 13 Williams students attended this year’s PBL national conference. Accompanying the students were Summer DeProw and Chris Lawrey of the WBC business faculty.
