Lindsey Wilson Gives Generous Donation Thru Employer
In December of 2007, Lindsey Wilson made a generous donation of $1,000 to Williams Baptist College’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). Lindsey worked for Teleflora, Incorporated in Paragould, Arkansas as a sales person in their Consumer Direct division for one year prior to graduation. As part of Teleflora’s benefit package, employees are allowed to donate $1,000 to a non-profit organization. Lindsey graciously chose Williams PBL organization. Lindsey sent the following message in an email today:
"I donated money to PBL because PBL benefited me, and my fellow classmates, so very much. It allowed for a sense of camaraderie while getting to know your classmates and instructors outside of the classroom as well as instilling basic professional mannerisms and conduct. The trips and competitions and various PBL events will always be some of my most valuable memories of Williams. I believe that PBL harbors the principles needed to grow and succeed in life and business, therefore I support it fully." Teleflora was contacted to obtain more information about this program they offer their employees. Jackie Glidewell, Human Resources Administrator, sent the following information:
"The Roll Giving program was started by Stewart and Lynda Resnick, the owners of Roll International - Teleflora's parent company, in 2006. Basically, they give each employee $1000 to donate to the charitable organizations of their choice each year after they have been employed for a year. Each January, every employee gets a new $1000 to give to a maximum of 3 organizations. It is an excellent program and we have been able to positively impact several local organizations. The Team Members of the Paragould location have donated between $150,000 and $165,000 each year for the past two years and we are starting a brand new year with great potential. To be eligible, an organization must be a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. An employee makes a request that a donation be made and it goes through the approval process from our corporate office."
We will use this money to fund trips to the PBL State and National Leadership Conferences. Students compete at the state conference to qualify for the National PBL Leadership Conference. This Year’s National PBL Leadership Conference is in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21-24, 2008.
The Business Department wholeheartedly appreciates Lindsey’s donation through Teleflora, Inc.
