2011 State PBL Results

Williams Department of Business Earns 41 Awards at the

2011 State Phi Beta Lambda Competition

 

The 2011 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) competition was another success for the Williams Department of Business.  Seventeen students earned 41 certificates in national-qualifying and open events during the state PBL competition in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 14-16, 2011.  Sixteen students qualified for the national PBL competition in 16 events which is in Orlando, Florida on June 23-26, 2011.  If a student participated in a “team event”, first and second places are automatically qualified for the national competition. Third place is the alternate.  If a student participated in an objective exam event, the first, second, and third place person qualifies to compete at the national competition. Fourth place is the alternate. The national-qualifying event results are as follows:

In addition to the national-qualifying events, the state PBL competition includes various open events.  Open events are objective exams that anyone may complete.  The national PBL competition will also have a variety of open events for our students to complete.  The following are the results of the open events.

The WBC PBL chapter was also recognized as the fifth largest chapter in the state and was ranked in second place for the Sweepstakes Award.  The Sweepstakes Award goes to the chapter with the most wins at the competition.
